Welcome to TCYC Vocal Coaching

Each person is unique, as is each voice, and your session will be tailored to your requests as well as what the coach sees as your vocal needs. During your session, we will give feedback, suggestions, and exercises to help you improve in specific areas.

Here are some things you should know about your vocal coaching session:

  • Bring water!

  • Bring a pencil

  • Bring any music you would like to work on

  • Bring a teachable attitude and be willing to learn and try new things

  • Arrive on time

Some of the things we will be working on are:

  • Breath support

  • Vocal techniques

  • Expanding your range

  • Vocal quality – clarity, volume

Your voice is an instrument, and you not only need to learn how to play it, you also need to take good care of it. To aid in this, please follow these tips:

  • Get plenty of sleep (7-9 hours per night)

  • Stay hydrated!

    • Drink water - it takes about 30 minutes for the water you drink to hydrate your body, so consider this and don’t guzzle a gallon of water right before singing!

    • You can add honey and/or lemon

  • Warm up your instrument (voice) before you sing

We look forward to working with you to help you become the best vocalist you can be. Hopefully, you will come away from this lesson knowing something more about yourself and something more about your singing voice.

Sincerely,
